Wow, what a week. There have been mass UFO sightings in Texas out the wa-zoo, of all sorts. I thought they were worth a post all on their own. Here's a wrap up of the strangeness in the skies of the Lone Star State... basically, everyone's seeing orange. Could a meteor shower be to blame? According to ElPasoAllSky.com, possibly. A fireball explains some, but certainly not all, the sightings. As well, a local San Antonian has admitted to lighting sky lanterns the night of the mass sighting in San Antonio (however it doesn't really explain the exact nature of all the sightings).
In other oddball UFO news...
Here's a photo of the lights seen in League City, apparently identical to other sightings around Texas.

The Lights in the Texas Sky blog has written up a great post about recent UFO sightings all over Texas - from League City to Katy. Apparently, on May 19th, residents all over the Lone Star State, as well as Missouri and Pennsylvania, saw red/orange lights moving in formations. This sighting is just like the mass sighting that made the news in Texas City (near League City) and is still unexplained! It's also similar to the red/orange lights seen the week of May 14th in various Texas cities, especially San Marcos. Here's a picture of the more recent event, from a Mesquite, TX and League City resident. A few days after this sighting, there was a mass sighting of a fireball-like object over Central and North Texas, according to ElPasoAllSky.com. Here's video of the League City sighting, from May 18th and 19th. And here's video of what appears to be the same UFOs in Mesquite the same night: Here are some testimonies from Lights in the Texas Sky:
Someone has spotted a black triangle craft slowly moving over Alvin, TX on May 20th. They snapped a few pictures of the craft, but nothing can really be made out of the photos ('read more' to view them). However, the witness offers up a detailed description and drawing of the sighting. Here's the full MUFON report: I am a professional photographer with 7 years of experience. I have a wide scope of projects I have completed ranging from architecture, to events, fashion, landscape, commercial, art, etc.. I was leaving a wedding that I had photographed in Alvin, Texas on 5/20/2012. I observed what looked like a plane in the distance while driving south-west on County Road 539 at 1:25AM. I almost ignored the lights in the sky when I noticed that there was a strange pulse of orange light coming from the object. I slowed down and kept watching the craft. There was a small red-light at each point of the triangular shaped craft (very similar to those on an aircraft). The craft started to get larger and I could see it was coming closer. I started to believe that it was the top of a tower or antenna due to the low altitude and pulsing. (The orange light on the bottom of the craft would get bright for 2 seconds and dim. This would repeat every 2 seconds.) I saw that it was passing to my left about 200 feet away just above the tree lines over the Alvin Golf Country Club. There was a break in the tree-line and I actually slowed and finally stopped the car when I saw clearly a black triangle shape passing by slowly. It was silently and steadily moving about 15-20mph heading north-east. I had my driver-side window down and watched as it flew past me and my car. I immediately grabbed my camera and made a U-Turn to follow it and attempt to snap some photographs. I hurriedly and excitedly snapped 4 photographs before it disappeared into the distance on its north-east path around 1:30AM. I was doing this while driving so the photographs have motion blur. I have attached two of the photographs of the object where it can be seen as well as a rough-sketch from my perspective in the car. Some interesting observations: -The craft was BLACK- although the sky was dark, I could easily see a dark triangular shape against the dark sky. -The craft was also relatively thick. I would say that it was about 15 feet tall at most and about as big as a large car. By my estimation, it would fit perfectly on a two-car driveway that many homes have. -The edges were not sharp but rounded. -I was shocked at how silent it was when it passed. -The pulsing light gave me the impression that it was a kind of signal to let other flying planes or helicopters see that it was there to prevent a crash.
I received a great report of a UFO sighting from a couple weeks back. A resident of League City, TX watched in awe as a distinct, multi-colored, flashing lights appeared in the sky, and then zig zagged down until they disappeared. Her husband suggested it was a military craft being tested in the nearby Ellington Airfield, but she's not buying it. Here's her full email to me: I live here in League City Texas..in Galveston County..It was about 2 am and I was letting my dog out to use the bathroom...I noticed in the horizon there was a flashing light..it had different colors and looked almost as if it were spinning..I saw it come down at an angle..I thought that maybe I was seeing a meteor fall out of the sky . I wanted to run inside to get my camera but I just could not keep my eyes off of it. I was in complete shock to what I was seeing. As I watched it fall from the sky it did a quick zig zag motion and disappeared. During the last two weeks I have been keeping an eye out again hoping it would appear .. This time I will have my camera ready..My husband was in disbelief and told me that it is Ellington Airfield doing their 24 hour testing(testing of what?).I know I saw something and I just could not get it out of my mind..
A Houston resident has tweeted about a UFO sighting in Southeast Texas - perhaps near the "Beyond Burger" joint in Texas City. The tweet was a little vague, but apparently the sighting occurred at 7 pm on May 9th, and included a chem trail: "I was in south east TX about 7 pm. Moving fast from south to north west. Chemtrail dissipated completely within seconds"
